As if this one needs any introduction. Here goes anyway, Putty 2024 edition.

I must admit to being a bit apprehensive to try my first ever Putty (I know, I know). They say, don’t meet your heroes and I guess I applied the same logic to this, much hyped beer. I mean, just how good could it actually be? Three words…believe the hype.

I had the highest of expectations but somehow Putty has managed to surpass anything I could have imagined.

It is a bold, full-bodied and smooth to pour. Appearance is a deep and opaque orange / dark gold. Aroma is a pleasing tropical mango. And the taste… the taste is on another level. I’m picking up mango, peach, citrus and passionfruit along with a earthiness which balances things wonderfully. It is packed with complexity and flavours.

I run out of words sometimes. Beers like this just raise the bar to new levels. I am pleased that the recipe doesn’t change from one year to the next. If it aint broke, don’t fix it 🍻
