Session IPA // 4.8% ABV

I was buzzing when Big Hug got back to me ahead of May’s Brew Ldn event, to let me know that they were gonna hook me up with a goody bag at the event.
I wandered over to their stall and immediately knew this was a great brewery and I hadn’t tried a single drop of their beer yet. How did I know, you may ask? Well, it was their team. They were all so talkative, welcoming and just a great advert for Big Hug Brewery.
You may also notice the Work For Good logo on the can. Just when my opinion of Big Hug couldn’t getting any higher, I learn that they fund raise for charity too. Incredible 🙏
Oh and the beer? Well I had a couple of their offerings on tap and Second Chance was the first beer I tried from their goody bag. What a great Session IPA. The appearance is invitingly bright, hazy and golden. Aroma is intensely tropical with a good amount of fresh pine. Flavour, ahhh the flavour. I’m getting a lovely combo of pineapple, grapefruit and stone fruit. And to top it off a lovely dry finish.
You can taste the care and attention that has gone into this beer. I have more BHB cans to review and I already get a feeling that they will be just a good.

Our Session IPA packed full of flavour, extra pale malt, wheat and oats combine for a full mouthfeel and sweet malty backbone. Idaho 7 and Simcoe combine to give flavours of peach, stone fruit and citrus with a soft well rounded bitterness.
